Baseball Recap: Claxton Takes a Loss

Claxton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs, falling 11-1. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Colby Kirkland was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Claxton's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Emanuel County Institute, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Claxton is set to challenge their familiar foe Metter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Emanuel County Institute will square off against rival Portal at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
