Softball Recap: Standing Bear Takes a Loss

Standing Bear saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Norfolk Panthers by a score of 9-8.

Standing Bear got a massive performance out of Lily Hansmeier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Hadley Froeschl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Standing Bear has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Norfolk, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Coming up, Standing Bear will take on Skutt Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the SkyHawks have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Norfolk, they will challenge Elkhorn South at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
