Baseball Recap: Brewer Takes a Loss

Brewer had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-10 to make it 11. They lost 13-2 to the Oxford Hills Vikings. The Witches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Oxford Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1. Considering they have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Oxford Hills' part, Colton Jendrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Jendrick posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Cassius Thibeault looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Back at the plate, Finley Cavers was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. Cam Pulkkinen was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Brewer is set to face off against their familiar foe Camden Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Oxford Hills will challenge rival Lewiston at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
