Basketball Game Preview: Bowlegs Bison vs. Varnum Whippets

Bowlegs is 0-10 against Varnum since December of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Bison will look to defend their home court against the Whippets at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Bowlegs put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. They really took it to Graham/Dustin for the full four quarters, racking up an 80-34 victory. With the Bison ahead 40-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bowlegs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayxin Parson, who went 11-for-18 to rack up 24 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Darius Morrison, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Bowlegs was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Graham/Dustin only racked up eight.

Meanwhile, Varnum strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 71-60 win over Sasakwa.

Bowlegs now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Varnum, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Bowlegs was taken down by Varnum 91-26 when the teams last played back in February. Can the Bison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
