Lake Forest Academy hasn't had much luck against Latin recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Caxys will look to defend their home field against the Romans at 4:30 p.m.
Francis W. Parker hit Lake Forest Academy with a seven-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Caxys came up short against the Colonels, falling 11-4.
Lake Forest Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Tucker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Latin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Fenwick a 9-0 shutout on Saturday. That nine-run margin sets a new team best for the Romans this season.
Drew Lufrano made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on John Rose, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Liam Calvert, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Latin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win got Latin back to even at 3-3. As for Lake Forest Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
