Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. Los Gatos

The Mountain View Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Los Gatos Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Mountain View proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by five) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Los Altos, sneaking past 2-1.

Sydney Johnson was the driving force of Mountain View's attack as she scored both of Mountain View's goals, bringing her season total up to five goals.

Meanwhile, Los Gatos hasn't lost a match since December 6, 2025, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Santa Clara a 6-0 shutout. Considering Los Gatos have won eight contests by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Los Gatos' victory bumped their record up to 9-1-3. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Mountain View suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Los Gatos in their previous matchup on January 8th. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Spartans were down 5-0.
