Soccer Game Preview: Prairie vs. Pleasant Valley

The Prairie Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Pleasant Valley Spartans on Thursday. Prairie is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Prairie's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Wilton. Give Prairie's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley faced Davenport North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Spartans came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Pleasant Valley.

Prairie's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Pleasant Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2-2.

Prairie beat Pleasant Valley by a goal when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 2-1. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
