Baseball Recap: Maquoketa Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Maquoketa's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clinton River Kings on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 10-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Maquoketa's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Clinton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the River Kings beat Maquoketa by a score of 13-0 later that day.
