            Softball Recap: Denver Cyclones vs. Union Knights        
        
		
        
        
            For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Denver and Union meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again  on Tuesday. The Cyclones might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  2-1 to the Knights, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cyclones were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in June of 2024.
Denver has also been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record  this season. Those  defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Union, their victory  ended  a  16-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-12.
 Coming up, Denver will be playing at home against Oelwein  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Union, they will head out to  square off against Jesup  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
