Preview: University City Centurions vs. Point Loma Pointers
The University City Centurions will head out on the road to face off against the Point Loma Pointers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully University City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
University City posted their biggest win since December 13, 2023 on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 47-10 victory over Lincoln. With University City ahead 24-2 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Kianna LeFear and Chaya Scott were among the main playmakers for University City as the former scored 12 points along with two steals and the latter dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Scott has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Bella Giron was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Point Loma beat San Diego 44-40 on Friday.
University City's record now sits at 11-9. Point Loma's record is now 13-8.
University City didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Point Loma when the teams last played on January 5th, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for University City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
