Softball Recap: North Linn Comes Up Short

North Linn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Alburnett Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Wednesday.

North Linn now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Alburnett, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

North Linn has already played their next match, an 11-1 victory against Calamus-Wheatland on the 26th. As for Alburnett, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-0 defeat against Johnston on the 27th.
