Basketball Recap: Vallejo's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Swett came into Friday's match looking for another win against Vallejo, but Veekie Head wouldn't allow it. The Vallejo Redhawks came out on top against the Swett Warriors by a score of 35-24 on Friday thanks in part to Head, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Taliyah Davis, who posted six points in addition to 19 rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Vallejo's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Swett, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-3.

Vallejo will venture away from home to face off against American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Swett will take on Hercules in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
