Preview: Imperial vs. Brawley
Imperial is 8-1-1 against Brawley since December of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Imperial Tigers will look to defend their home pitch against the Brawley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Imperial was the victim of a tough 5-2 loss at the hands of Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Imperial in their matchups with Central: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Brawley has not won a game since January 10th, a trend which continued on Monday. Neither they nor Sweetwater could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. While a more conclusive result would've been nice, Brawley got plenty of practice considering the match was the highest-scoring draw the team's played all season.
Imperial's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. Brawley's draw gives them a new season record of 5-13-4.
Imperial beat Brawley 2-0 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Imperial repeat their success, or does Brawley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
