Baseball Recap: Woodland Wolfpack vs. Morrow Mustangs

Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Morrow Mustangs, falling 14-7. The Wolfpack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Woodland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Washington, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Saul Burns also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Morrow, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodland will host Creekside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Creekside Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Woodland's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Morrow, they will be playing at home against M.L. King at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. M.L. King will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Morrow surely won't give up without a fight.
