Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-20, which was the final score in the Liberty Bison's tilt against the Chaparral Pumas on Friday. The Bison have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chaparral found their leader in sophomore Zetta Faasua, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Faasua has scored at least a third of Chaparral's points. Lexa Ava Li was another key player, putting up five points along with ten assists and seven steals.

Liberty now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Chaparral, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty and Elsinore will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chaparral, they will venture away from home to challenge Fallbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
