Basketball Recap: Redlands Terriers vs. Beaumont Cougars
The Redlands Terriers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight defeat. They were dealt a 82-11 loss at the hands of Beaumont. Redlands has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Beaumont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabella Cooper led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. Kiya Waters was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Redlands' loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Beaumont, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.
Redlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Beaumont will head out on the road to challenge the Cowboys at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Cajon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
