Rome and Villa Rica are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Wolves will take on the Wildcats at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. Rome's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five games, but Wednesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Rome came up short against East Paulding and fell 6-1.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Villa Rica took on Alexander on Tuesday. The Wildcats never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Villa Rica's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Rome, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Rome was able to grind out a solid victory over Villa Rica in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
