Basketball Recap: East Palo Alto Academy Takes a Loss

East Palo Alto Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Mountain View Academy Mustangs 54-14. The Bulldogs were down 38-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, East Palo Alto Academy still got an impressive performance from Perla Sanchez, who posted eight points.

Mountain View Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Mackey out in front who scored 22 points. The dominant performance also gave Mackey a new career-high in blocks (two). Leilani Wright was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

East Palo Alto Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Mountain View Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

East Palo Alto Academy will host Apostles Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Palo Alto Academy is facing Apostles Lutheran at the right time seeing as Apostles Lutheran is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mountain View Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Kehillah at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Kehillah will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mountain View Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
