Basketball Game Preview: Loomis Wolves vs. Ansley/Litchfield Spartans

The Loomis Wolves and the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Loomis has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Loomis is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Maxwell with a 49-44 victory on Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loomis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Kegley, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Kegley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Ellsworth, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Loomis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They are 2-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Ansley/Litchfield ended up a good deal behind Axtell on Thursday and lost 41-26. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 15 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Ansley/Litchfield and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Loomis, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Loomis beat Ansley/Litchfield 48-39 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
