Baseball Game Preview: Cotter Ramblers vs. Dover-Eyota Eagles

The Cotter Ramblers are taking a road trip to face off against the Dover-Eyota Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Cotter has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Cotter gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out St. Charles 7-6.

Meanwhile, Dover-Eyota earned an 8-5 win over Rushford-Peterson on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Luke Meyers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meyers was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mat Matejka was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Kade Hammel also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Dover-Eyota lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Dover-Eyota now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Cotter, their record is now 9-2.

Cotter couldn't quite get it done against Dover-Eyota when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 11-8. Can the Ramblers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
