Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Mesa Ridge's Winning Streak

Mesa Ridge dropped down to 14-8-1 on Friday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Lutheran Lions, falling 11-1. The Grizzlies were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the six matchups prior), but the Lions' pitcher proved too tough.

Kailynn Fielder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

As for Lutheran, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

On Lutheran's side, Addie Brightman was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Brightman has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Kiley Glenn, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

As of now, neither Mesa Ridge nor Lutheran have any future games scheduled.
