Soccer Game Preview: Kerman vs. Kingsburg

The Kerman Lions will square off against the Kingsburg Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Kingsburg will be up against a hot Kerman squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Kerman's defense stepped up to hand Washington Union a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Lions have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Washington Union from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Briseyda Tovar led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kingsburg). They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Selma on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Kerman has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five matchups. As for Kingsburg, their win bumped their record up to 4-10-3.

Kerman came out on top in a nail-biter against Kingsburg when the teams last played on January 9th, sneaking past 2-1. Will Kerman repeat their success, or does Kingsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
