Basketball Recap: Mt. Diablo Skates Past Benicia with Ease

There's no place like home for Mt. Diablo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed by the Benicia Panthers to the tune of 41-14 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Devils also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Mt. Diablo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carlesia Adams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Mt. Diablo is undefeated when Adams posts eight or more rebounds, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Natalie Dance, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points along with five boards and five steals.

Mt. Diablo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

With the victory, Mt. Diablo broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-8. As for Benicia, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Mt. Diablo has already played their next game (against Berean Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Benicia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-46 loss against Miramonte on the 15th.
