Basketball Game Preview: Santa Clara Saints vs. Providence Patriots

The Santa Clara Saints will venture away from home to face off against the Providence Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Santa Clara is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Thursday, Santa Clara was fully in charge, breezing past Dunn 58-16. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Providence had to suffer through a 51-9 loss at the hands of Carpinteria. The Patriots have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Santa Clara's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Providence, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for Santa Clara against Providence in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 67-18 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Clara since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
