Basketball Recap: Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy Skates Past Big Bear with Ease

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy came into Friday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Big Bear Bears 56-29. Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy to victory were Michelle Otuonye and Jha?Nyaa Ardon. Otuonye dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds, while Ardon posted 21 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Ardon's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Le?Lianna Auston, who scored ten points along with seven boards and three steals.

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Big Bear, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-23.
