Soccer Game Preview: Edison vs. Bear Creek

Edison is 1-8-1 against Bear Creek since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Edison Vikings will look to defend their home pitch against the Bear Creek Bruins at 2:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Edison is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Tokay on Thursday. Edison fell just short of Tokay by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for the Vikings seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bear Creek kept a clean sheet against Chavez on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Titans out 1-0. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Titans are ranked 999th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bear Creek has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1.
