Soccer Recap: Lathrop Comes Up Short

Lathrop lost to Beyer back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans came up short against the Patriots, falling 8-1. While losing is never fun, Lathrop can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 935th, while Beyer are ranked 148th).

Lathrop's goal came courtesy of Isabella Montanez, which was the first she's scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Lathrop and nudges their season record down to 3-8-3. As for Beyer, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lathrop will square off against rival Pacheco at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Beyer is set to challenge their familiar foe Johansen at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
