The Riverdale Ridge Ravens will head out to square off against the Windsor Wizards at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverdale Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.4 runs per game this season.
Riverdale Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Holy Family on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 6-3 to the Tigers. It was the first time this season that the Ravens let down their fans at home.
Aubri Lerch spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Peyton Saenz was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Windsor had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lobos a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Wizards have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison White and Camryn Cobb did most of the damage at the plate: White went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Cobb went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs White has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephanie Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Windsor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocky Mountain only posted a batting average of .188.
Riverdale Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Windsor, their win bumped their record up to 18-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Riverdale Ridge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Windsor struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Riverdale Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Windsor in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 13-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
