Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Covenant Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since February 12, 2024 on Monday. They lost 53-32 to the Mount Calvary Christian Chargers. While losing is never fun, Covenant Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Mount Calvary Christian is ranked 121st).

Mount Calvary Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylie Masters, who posted 17 points and four steals. Masters' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Kathleen Smucker was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Covenant Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Mount Calvary Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Covenant Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against West Shore Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mount Calvary Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Delaware County Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
