Murrieta Valley has gone 8-1-1 against Chaparral recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks will look to defend their home pitch against the Chaparral Pumas at 7:00 p.m. Murrieta Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Murrieta Valley's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Vista Murrieta 3-0. Considering the Nighthawks have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Chaparral fell victim to Great Oak and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Wolfpack are ranked 60th).

Murrieta Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those seven matches. As for Chaparral, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6.

Murrieta Valley took their victory against Chaparral in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 8-0. Will Murrieta Valley repeat their success, or does Chaparral have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
