Soccer Recap: Torrance Takes a Loss

Torrance lost against Palos Verdes back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Torrance Tartars came up short against the Palos Verdes Sea Kings, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Tartars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Sea Kings are ranked eighth).

Torrance moved to 5-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Palos Verdes, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Torrance has already played their next game (against North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Palos Verdes will look to defend their home pitch on January 24th against Mira Costa at 3:15 p.m.
