Softball Recap: Staley Comes Up Short

Staley extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-3. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Springs South Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 10-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Blue Springs South, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

For Blue Springs South's part, Kyndall Armstrong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits. Armstrong has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ella Carmack was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten contests. Riley Hollister was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Staley will square off against Millard North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blue Springs South, they will face off against Raymore-Peculiar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
