Soccer Game Preview: Milton vs. Pensacola

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Milton face off against the Pensacola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Milton and 12 for Pensacola.

Milton fell victim to Navarre and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Raiders are ranked 142nd).

Meanwhile, Pensacola scored the most goals they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 8-3 to Pine Forest. The match was a close 3-2 at the break, but unfortunately for the Tigers it sure didn't stay that way.

Milton's loss dropped their record down to 5-8-2. As for Pensacola, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Milton took their win against Pensacola when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milton since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
