Soccer Game Preview: Cloverleaf vs. Northwest

The Cloverleaf Colts will venture away from home to take on the Northwest Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Cloverleaf fell victim to Springfield and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. Cloverleaf have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Northwest's fans didn't get a definitive result on Wednesday, they were treated to the team's highest-scoring tie of the season. Neither they nor Orrville could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Colin Harris was the only thing that stood between Northwest and a shutout considering he scored both of Northwest's goals, bringing his season total up to 16 goals.

Cloverleaf's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1. Northwest's draw makes their record 11-2-4 this season.

Everything went Cloverleaf's way against Northwest in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, as Cloverleaf made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
