Soccer Game Preview: Stevenson vs. Palma

The Stevenson Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Palma Chieftains at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stevenson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Palma heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Stevenson took over last week. Stevenson beat King City by a goal, winning 2-1.

Meanwhile, Palma's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Gonzales by a score of 3-2.

Stevenson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Palma, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-2.

Stevenson skirted past Palma 1-0 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stevenson since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
