Basketball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Takes a Loss

Academy for Academic Excellence played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 72-41 loss at the hands of the Apple Valley Sun Devils. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Sun Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Leading Apple Valley to victory were Simran Ahluwalia and Elizabeth Searls. Ahluwalia posted 20 points and five assists, while Searls put up 19 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Anastasia Cochran, who scored seven points and five blocks.

Academy for Academic Excellence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Apple Valley, their record is now 13-11.

Academy for Academic Excellence has already played their next game, a 46-20 loss against University Prep on the 31st. As for Apple Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 29-28 win against Serrano on the 28th.
