Soccer Game Preview: Imperial vs. Brawley

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Imperial take on the Brawley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Imperial has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Brawley will come in with four straight wins.

Imperial saw some tournament action back in December of 2024. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Valhalla an easy 7-1 victory.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brawley). Their defense stepped up to hand Yuma a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. Give the Wildcats' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Yuma from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Evelyn Murrieta led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Brawley pushed their record up to 12-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Imperial, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Imperial came up short against Brawley when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Imperial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
