Preview: San Juan Spartans vs. Burbank Titans
The San Juan Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Burbank Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Juan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Tuesday, San Juan had to suffer through a rough 50-17 loss at the hands of Foothill.
Meanwhile, Burbank came up short against Johnson on Tuesday and fell 37-29.
Despite their loss, Burbank saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Daejahmonni Tagger, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Tagger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Bufford, who scored 6 points along with 16 rebounds and 5 steals.
El Camino's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while San Juan's loss dropped theirs to 0-5.
San Juan was able to grind out a solid victory over Burbank when the teams last played back in December of 2015, winning 61-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Juan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
