Soccer Game Preview: University vs. Woodbridge

The University Trojans will challenge the Woodbridge Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. University's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for University's offense. They lost 5-0 to Laguna Beach on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 460th, while Laguna Beach are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Woodbridge also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aliso Niguel back in December of 2025.

Woodbridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-2. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-3.

University suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Woodbridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
