On Friday Hartselle's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 victory over the Jasper Vikings. The 17-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Carter Lee threw for 103 yards and one TD. Cain Falciani was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Jaheim Pruitt rushed for 88 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Jasper lost, don't look at Micah Pledger. Despite the final result, he rushed for 90 yards and one score.

Hartselle's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Jasper, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hartselle is set to square off against their familiar foe Muscle Shoals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 7.2, the Trojans 4.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Jasper will take on rival Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
