Basketball Recap: Miramonte Falls Short of California in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Miramonte can now relate to. They lost 44-19 to the California Grizzlies on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Matadors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Miramonte's loss came despite strong showings from Annelise Lindberg and Lorelei Keenan. Lindberg posted four points and three steals, while Keenan scored four points and nine boards. Lindberg has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

It was another big night for Sofie Addiego, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals for California. Lana Vu was another key player, putting up ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Miramonte and nudges their season record down to 18-11. As for California, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Miramonte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for California, they will square off against Eureka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. California is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
