Volleyball Recap: Holy Name Comes Up Short

Holy Name suffered their biggest defeat since August 26th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions. The loss continues a trend for the Green Wave in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Holy Name was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-18, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Holy Name still got an impressive performance from Hayden Wells, who had 17 digs and one assist. Wells is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Kenzi Watson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Holy Name's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Holy Name has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Twinsburg on the 12th. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Lake Catholic on the 16th.
