Baseball Game Preview: Christian Patriots vs. Madison Warhawks

For the second straight game, Christian will face off against Madison. The Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Warhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Christian 3.2, Madison 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Madison just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Warhawks by a score of 4-3.

For Madison's part, Jeremiah Jennings tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Harrison Brown was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Wilderman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The win (which was Madison's tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Christian, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 17-8-1.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
