Gregori is 10-0 against Modesto since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Gregori Jaguars challenge the Modesto Panthers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gregori has three straight wins, Modesto has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Gregori earned a 53-41 victory over Enochs. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Eagles are ranked 769th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Modesto came up short against Downey on Tuesday and fell 42-29.

Gregori will need focus on slowing down Allison Marchy, one of several Modesto players who made an impact when they last played. She went 6 of 13 on her way to 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maeve Kidd, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Modesto was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Gregori's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Modesto, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Everything came up roses for Gregori against Modesto in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 56-19 victory. In that contest, Gregori amassed a halftime lead of 31-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
