Softball Recap: Coosa Comes Up Short on the Road Against Rome

Coosa kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rome Wolves. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 22 in a row.

Coosa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katelynn Shaffer, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Kierra Bain, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Rome has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coosa will square off against Walker at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rome, they will take on Alexander at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Wolves their first taste of in-conference action this season.
