Basketball Recap: Harvard-Westlake Takes Down Chaminade in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Harvard-Westlake had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Chaminade Eagles 65-49 on Wednesday. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Eagles are ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the third in a row for Harvard-Westlake, bringing their record for this year to 23-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for Chaminade, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-13.

Looking ahead, Harvard-Westlake will be playing in front of their home fans against Rancho Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Rancho Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. Chaminade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
