Soccer Game Preview: Kelseyville vs. Lower Lake

The Kelseyville Knights will head out to face off against the Lower Lake Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kelseyville has eight straight wins, Lower Lake has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Kelseyville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Middletown, who was ranked 11th at the time (Kelseyville was ranked second). The Knights were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over the Mustangs on Tuesday. Considering Kelseyville have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lower Lake's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against Clear Lake, falling 4-1. That's two games in a row now that Lower Lake have lost by exactly three goals.

Kelseyville's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Lower Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7-2.

Kelseyville took their win against Lower Lake in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
