While Denver North's victory against The Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 8-7. The Vikings' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Veronica Loera-Tafoya was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Loera-Tafoya was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Loera-Tafoya wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caidyn Kennedy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
