Basketball Recap: Santa Barbara Comes Up Short

Santa Barbara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 47-34 to the Rio Mesa Spartans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-34 back in December of 2024.

Santa Barbara's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Rio Mesa, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-12.

Santa Barbara will face off against Pacifica at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Mesa, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Leuzinger at 11:30 a.m. Leuzinger will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Rio Mesa surely won't give up without a fight.
