First Baptist has no trouble against Northland Christian

Recap: First Baptist Saints vs. Northland Christian Cougars

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the First Baptist Saints walked away with it. They blew past the Cougars 49-28. The win was just business as usual for First Baptist, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.

First Baptist had a senior duo take command as Alijah Cason gained 284 total yards and four touchdowns and Hunter McCoy threw for 371 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per attempt. McCoy has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last nine times he's played. Mark Rayson was another key contributor, rushing for 108 yards on only 12 carries.

Northland Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Hall, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Rome Stanford, who gained 117 total yards.

First Baptist's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Northland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

First Baptist will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lubbock Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Lubbock Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Northland Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
